LAMINADOS LOSAL had a stand once again this year at the international trade fair of Hanover held between 21 to 25 April, in Germany, which brought together some 5000 participating exhibitors, from over more than 60 countries and a record number of more than 200,000 visitors..

 

 

Currently, it is one of the most important trade fairs in the world with a 30 % increase in the number of visitors compared to the previous edition.

 

 

During the trade fair and within the section of subcontracting, we have established contact with more than 20 companies interested in our products, of which it is expected in the medium term could lead to future business opportunities.

 

 

Within the sector of special profiles of hot-rolled steel, the Hanover trade fair brought together the key players in this market. All of them (customers, competition and suppliers) concurred in highlighting the difficult situation, with the current and future trend of price increases in raw materials, creating a climate of instability for the manufacturers of semi-processed products.

 

 

 

LOSAL, however, with the aim of expanding its customer base and geographical diversification, as well as a being company that mainly exports, during 2008 will be also in the trade fairs of Hamburg (specialising in shipbuilding applications) to be held in Germany between 23 to 26 September and in Shanghai (China) from 03 to 06 June, where it is expected that new business opportunities will eventuate.

 

With these new initiatives we hope to find a way out and to offset, the current situation of disproportionate increases in costs, mainly raw material and energy, as well as the unfavourable Euro/USD exchange rate which makes those products offered in the export markets outside the EU less competitive.
